The Institute of Concrete Structures has been conducting research for a long time on the shear capacity of reinforced and prestressed concrete components, in particular deck slabs of bridges. More accurate design models are developed on the basis of tests and numerical calculations. Another research focus is numerical modeling of concrete structures as well as stress transfer in concrete cracks.
