The main objective of the project is the development of the low scattering phosphor-in-glass (PiG) composites with increased conversion efficiency by embedding phosphor micro and nanoparticles in glass with high refractive index. New type of high-refractive index glass with heavy loading of TiO2 nanoparticles and avoiding toxic additives is going to be developed for this purpose. Performance of low scattering PiG will be optimized by modelling the effects of volume and surface scattering of exciting blue and emitted yellow radiation.
